Founder (1983) and CEO of North American Health Plans (now Meritain/Aetna) At its sale in 2005, the company’s staff of 700 in eight regional offices administered plans for over 400,000 members, paying $2 billion in annual claims. Clients included Fisher-Price Toys, M&T Bank, Dunkin’ Donuts, and the University of Notre Dame.

Kevin Gannon

Chief Sales Officer

A veteran benefits broker of over 35 years in Western New York, he was the founder/President of Niagara Benefits Group (later sold to Brown & Brown). As VP of M&T Benefits Division (2007-2017), Executive VP of EBC, Inc. (later sold to USI), Kevin worked with such groups as Catholic Health, HSBC Bank, and The Upper Allegheny Health System.

After a 29-year career as a Police Officer and Detective, Ed joined Azeros as Director of Labor Relations. Representing the Amherst Police Union since 1997, Ed participated extensively in the negotiating of wages, health insurance benefits and costs, and other labor relations matters.

DPC Advisor

Co-founder of Empower3, a Pennsylvania based group that has launched three Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinics in that state and is expanding. In the DPC approach, true physician partnerships are arranged, and medical care reimbursement evolves from a fee-for-service system to payments on a per-member-per-month basis. The company has merged with Spark360, a population health innovator.

Patrick McLaughlin

Prior to launching Araya Rx, Patrick was Chief Services Officer at NMHC Rx, a publicly traded Pharmacy Benefit Manager located on Long Island, NY. As such, he oversaw all operational and clinical aspects working with TPAs, managed care plans, and self-insured corporations and municipalities. With over 30 years in the industry, Mr. McLaughlin has worked in Product Development, Sales, Client Services, and Acquisitions. He advises Azeros on federally qualified 340B pharmacy programs.

James Notaro

President of Clinical Support Services
Pharmacy Advisor

A licensed pharmacist, Mr. Notaro was formerly Manager of Pharmacy Services for Univera Healthcare and Director of Managed Care for Centrus, an Albany-based PBM. Upon founding CSS, which clinically manages drug utilization, he designed a proprietary medication management software system used for claims of self-insured groups.
